Help the 6th Graders get to Camp!
The Trip
Every winter, the Washington Elementary 6th grade class embarks on a multi-day outdoor education trip, where students camp, hike, and learn hands-on science and environmental education alongside their classmates — often their first extended time away from home.
Why We're Asking Now
SCUSD has always paid for this trip, but this year a district-wide budget shortfall has cut that funding. Schools and families now have to cover the cost themselves. The trip costs $549 per student. Washington is a Title 1 school, so the Washington LCO community is raising money to make sure no child misses out because their family can't afford it. This trip is a highlight of students' elementary years; a chance to build confidence, independence, and friendships outside the classroom. With your support, every Washington 6th grader will get the opportunity to participate, together.
Because the LCO is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, your donation is tax-deductible to the full extent allowable by law. A receipt will be provided to you.
